LONG, Elaine M. (Casey) 84 years old, of Quincy, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Quincy Medical Center. Mrs. Long was born in Boston, and she was raised and educated in Roxbury. She graduated from Saint Patrick’s High School, Class of 1945 and from Labouré College in Boston. She lived in Quincy for over sixty years, earlier living in Roxbury. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the William B. Rice Eventide Home of Quincy, the Quincy Public Schools, and the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton. Beloved wife for sixty-one years of Joseph M. Long. Devoted mother of Suzanne M. Brigham and her husband Stephen C. Brigham, M.D. of Maryland, Michael J. Long and his wife Sandra of Norwell, and Joseph P. Long and his wife Maureen of Scituate. Loving grandmother of Amy S. Widding and her husband Erik B. of Boston, Daniel J. Brigham of Maryland, Caitlin E. Long of Norwell, James C. Long of Norwell, Brendan T. Long of Scituate, and Kevin J. Long of Scituate. Loving great-grandmother of Anders R. Widding of Boston. Brother of Paul R. Casey of Quincy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, QUINCY, Tuesday, April 19th at 9am. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School St., Quincy, at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Monday 5-8pm. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
